ALLISON CHOWN Allison Grant Chown, born in Markham, ON August 30, 1909, died peacefully in Victoria, January 17, 2007. Predeceased by the love of her life, husband Bruce; her brother Wallace, and sister Dorothy Grant. Leaves behind son Sandy (Heather); stepchildren, Joyce, Adaire Schlatter (Jorg) and Ralph (Marcelle), nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Allison was a teacher (as her grandson Eric hopes to be) all her life at Strathcona Lodge, Smith College, Riverbend and her favourite, Balmoral Hall where, apparently, she even made Shakespeare exciting. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Balmoral Hall School, 630 Westminster Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 3S1. At Allison's request there will be no service. It's January so we'll make a batch of marmalade for you...we'll miss you, Mum.
